DOALNARA GRAND PERFORMANCE IN ILIGAN CITY
The victims of Sendong and the students of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology got amazed from the performance of the Doalnara Performing Arts Group showcasing their talents in dancing, singing and playing some musical instruments. On March 11, 2012 "The World is One, We are all Family" was staged at MSU-IIT Gymnasium. The showcased production and show-off of talents is a benefit performance for the victims of Typhoon Sendong.
Members of the said group are composed of performers from Korea and from the municipality of Claveria in Misamis Oriental. In an interview with one member of the group, the whole production itself is composed of not less than 40 performers, more or less 20 staff and majority of the performers came from the town of Claveria. Many of the audience wowed from the amazing synchronized dances of the performers. Most especially when a group of performers dance instinctively and while dancing from time to time the color of their costume "dresses" changes. It was really amazing! Definitely the P50 admission ticket was all worth it.
At the end of the performances, everyone got overwhelmed. The audience also got the chance of taking pictures with the performers. For me the show was beneficial to me and to the rest of the audience. It made me feel alive after the performance. For awhile I did appreciate other culture aside from my own. The performance on the other hand is a mix of Korean Culture and Filipino Culture since some of the showcased productions were traditional song and dances of the Filipinos.

Taxi Rides in London
Travelling? Safety first! When travelling around London, one of the many possible stupid things that can happen is getting lost. It can happen to you if you are unfamiliar with the place you are to visit, but you can avoid this if you have reliable transportation. But choosing the right transportation options for your London getaway may become frustrating and difficult. If you are visiting London for the first time, you might end up accepting a ride from illegal minicabs. Just like any country around the world, anything illegal spells out trouble. Personally, safety has been my utmost priority when visiting places in foreign countries.
When it comes to safe transportation in London, one option would be to avail of the services offered by Anycabs.co.uk. Your safety is guaranteed and their services are not expensive. Wherever you are in London, you will have the convenience of booking the cheapest minicab as quickly as possible. You can also choose which cab offers the cheapest fare. This means that before you get on the minicab, you already know how much you might be paying.
Time is of the essence when travelling. When you are done booking your ride, you will directly receive your travel confirmation through your mobile phone via SMS. In other words, you get to save time because you no longer need to wait around for a cab! Drivers who can drive well and who know the best routes with less traffic always make my day. Anycabs guarantees that you get the best deal for your travel. Yes, there are no fees or any extra cost for you to use their service.
Cost-effective travelling. Another thing I consider is the cost of travel. In London, there are two types of cabs: black cabs and minicabs. Yes, black cabs are guaranteed safe, but they can get too expensive; I would not enjoy a ride that would cost an arm and a leg! Why spend too much on black cabs when there are minicabs in London? The advantage of taking minicabs rather than black cabs is that it can take you to your destination for less money.
How does Anycabs.co.uk do this?
Anycabs recognizes the need to revolutionize transportation booking and. It provides a reputable service to the commuting citizens and visitors of London by pooling every licensed minicab company in the area. These companies have to go through a lot of scrutiny to be part of their checklist. Take note, only “licensed minicab companies” are in their roster. These companies also have fixed fare rates. These cabs are never going to rip you off, unlike many other illegal minicab companies in London.
Whether you are alone or in the company of others, you can enjoy London by knowing that you have a trusty company who has your back! If you are unsure of your destination and you don’t know how much you should pay for cab fare, then you can log on to http://www.anycabs.co.uk to book cheap, safe, and trustworthy cabs to take you around London.

Change For a Healthier Philippines| Unilab Ideas Positive
A lot of people nowadays claim to care for the environment but how many of us actually go out of our way to protect it? Not so long ago, our very own city of Iligan suffered a great loss from the devastating flash floods that brought us up by typhoon Sendong. Many lives have lost upon the strike of the deadly disease from the urine of rats---leptospirosis! You might have been spared from drowning from the flash floods, but you will not be spared from this disease! Originally, this deadly disease was thought of as being an occupational disease. Occupational in the sense, that only groups such as sewer workers bear the risk of the possibility of getting the infection because of the kind of work that they have. However, climate change as the result of the continuous degradation of the environment due to human abuses has turn this disease into an outbreak. Over the years, we had experienced full examples to prove that humans are the one’s responsible for the degradation of our environment. The Tsunami in Japan in 2011 and quakes in Negros after the flash floods in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City just recently, are all effects of our bad habit and practices.
When is the time that we can really feel the need to fight for the environment? Do we still need another Sendong for us to act and fight for the enverionment?
I have so much stress in my life as a youth; therefore, I know that sometimes I felt that my life like any normal youth can seem too busy to worry about the environment. It should be the youth! Certainly, because they have brilliant ideas. Maybe because this is the stage where one individual search for sense of social purpose, it is a time for them to decide about future life. It is the time to choose or decide which way to go for life. This is the moment where one should ponder the kind of life one should want to live with. Further, teenagers have often very receptive brain, so they can learn faster and better than others. This is the stage where they spend much time on discovering and learning skills and develop them in preparation for their adulthood. Therefore, this is the best time for the youth to learn the ideas about caring for the environment.
I have high hopes for the Filipino youth to come up with realistic and enduring solutions that could be the answer of the pressing concerns in our environment. The youth's exceptional brilliance together with Unilab Ideas Positive which is a social marketing clinic and at the same time a competition provides a venue for college students to share their innovative and sustainable ideas would be a perfect combination. Unilab Ideas Positive helps the youth in turning their ideas into concrete health and wellness programs for their communities by indulging the youth participants with: 1. When is the time that we can really feel the need to fight for the environment? Do we still need another Sendong for us to act and fight for the enverionment?
It has always been said that the only permanent thing in this world is change. Yes, calamities are part of that change---the constant change in the environment. However, there are types of change, the natural and the induced change which is caused by humans. Therefore, WE ---humans, specifically the youth should rethink our relationship with the environment. The only way we can understand the problems in our environment is to educate ourselves about it and our relation to it. What are the effects of our actions and decisions towards the environment and what do we get out of it in the future. Like for example, the introduction of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. In our elementary we already knew about nutrient cycling that nutrients pass from the environment to the organisms and back to the environment but chemical pesticides and fertilizers disrupts this cycle which will results to imbalance. We do burn our farms wastes instead of allowing them to decompose naturally and again this disrupts the cycle.
Why the youth?

Undeniably, Tita Fannies Liempo and Chicken Haus is one of the taste you shouldn't forget when visiting Iligan City. Rotating Black-Out in Iligan City Caused Furious Consumers Resulted to Hacking the Local Electric Company's Official Website
A group of Iliganon’s expressed their anger in a Facebook page over the rotating black-out that caused so much damage to their electronic properties. In fact, they formed an online campaign against it.
Reading from the different comments of the people they seem outrageously infuriated towards Iligan Light and Power Inc., (ILPI), the local electric company who served Iligan City for almost eight decades now. People seem to be blaming the said company as the culprit of this "unreasonable" black outs over the city of Majestic Waterfalls. In addition, one major reason is the fact that Iligan is the source of the hydroelectric power---it should not suffer longer blackouts.
Wow!!! It appears to me that the company's website got hacked? Try to view their website now! As you can see the company's name is now "Iligan Light and Palong, Inc., the word "palong" means "shut off" or "switched off" and the statement found below to describe the company appeared to be rephrased "For almost eight decades of existence, Iligan Light and Power, Inc. has proficiently (joking...problem?trollololol) served the City of Iligan"
I believe this is done by the angry consumers. Scary angry consumers! As of writing this article it seems that the company is not yet aware of this happening.
Infuriated consumers who are Online Professionals said that they lost their online jobs as among them are virtual assistants, online data entry workers, SEO optimizer and other related online jobs of which electricity is the basic need. The campaign photo above have reached to 155 shares (as of writing this article) on the web causing the number of people commenting on the said page to bubble up.
An article I found at Zamboanga Today Online showed that Iligan is not the only place experiencing a rotating blackouts. Moreover, the article explained as to what could be the real reason of the blackouts. Is ILPI to be blamed?
The article clearly stated that there is no more power supply as the Mindanao Regional Control Center (MRCC) is approaching zero (0) MW level in its contingency/operating reserve which include the Agus 4, 6, two power barge and the Western Mindanao Power Corporation.
Iligan Light and Power Inc., has nothing to do with the blackout. According to an insider, they only receive supplies from NGCP. They only receive directives from the NGCP. If NGCP will give supplies Iligan City will have its shares of power.
Proposed solutions to the angry consumers.
Since, electric power is scarce, I believe you should secure laptops with longer life batteries so you can work things while there is no electricity yet and submit your works when the electricity resumes.
To those consumers who complains over destroyed electric appliances. I believe securing a published schedule of blackout places found in ILPI website (or click here to have a copy of it) it's the best you can do in order for you to properly shut down or turn off your appliances before ILPI cut off the source.
ILIGAN CITY| DIMSUM at 50% Less every 6:30 PM
I am so tired today! but, I manage to visit the mall today after a rough ride to Brgy. Mainit giving out 200 packs/bags of school supplies to the five Day Care Centers of the aforementioned Barangay. The school supplies and the food that we fed to the children are courtesy of www.traveljams.com and www.adventuresinlife.blogspot.com ...
Anyway, I just discovered something that amazed me...Well obviously its about this food store over at the Food Court of Gaisano City Super Mall in Iligan City----the DIMSUM.
What surprised me is this....
Yes! You read it right. Less Fifty percent (50%) on all food items!
How? and Why?
Its like this! I got this friend whom I accompany with to the mall to buy some food for [his brothers birthday] later did I know. So, as I just arrived from the activity over at Brgy. Mainit and he came from a make-up class I decided to go to the food court where he was waiting.
Hmmm..."I can't go away from the food court cause I am waiting at exactly 6:30 and I got number sixteen (16) on the line," my friend told me. I was puzzled, but I just nodded as a sign of agreement. Maybe I was not in the right mind to ask "why?"cause I just feel so out of breath as I just arrived. Then we went to this cellphone stall nearby just to check something "like a plan thing."
Then at exactly 6:30 we went back to this store. There was this girl who were reciting numbers in a very loud shout! Then this friend of mine suddenly looks like bothered. He was looking for the line...so I just stood nearby waiting for him.
I was then curious of the commotion that I just observed and my curious mind started to work! "There is something in this group of people who are seemed to be excited!" I thought of it...
Later on, I found this woman who was standing behind at the line and started to ask her questions.
Ahhh! Ohmmm!...
Yes it was true! Before 6:30 it is normal for people to flock in front of the store because they are giving out priority numbers to those people who wishes to avail their fifty percent (50%) less of all the food items that they are selling or offering.
According to the customers that I interviewed, at around 4:30 to 5:30 every afternoon the store will be releasing priority numbers to those people waiting. When customers got their priority numbers, all they have to do is wait until 6:30 in the evening. Only then, the store will sell all the left overs at 50% less.
One customer told me that the food is still at its best quality. Its just that the management of the said store do not want to waste the food and just let it be thrown if not all sold.
Another woman told me that she spends almost a thousand pesos everyday for her four (4) dogs so she is a regular customer of the said store and avail a considerable discount for her dog and for herself.
I went over this table whom I saw that seems enjoying from the food that they just bought from the food store. Just asked the couple if it's okay if I take some photo of them while eating and post it here in my blog ---am so glad that they said "YES" after a few seconds of hesitations.
| "A family enjoying their dinner at 50% discount at Dimsum" |
Well, a happy family enjoying their dinner in front of the store.
You can do that also...after getting tired strolling around or shopping at the mall. You can take your dinner at DIMSUM before going home. Surely you will enjoy it, just like the couple in the picture :)
Later, I found out that they often come at the store to dine specially week-ends "family day" and of course because of the 50% food discount.
FYI soft drinks are excluded from the 50% discounts. Also their Special "Siopao" has only 20% discount (not sure! I shall have to visit the place once again to verify).
So...my friend bought the food for his brother's birthday and we headed home. The taste of the food? I was not invited at the party so I was not able to find out...lol "bitter?"
For sure I will visit the place once again soon...maybe with my "kuma" blogger friends to try the food. :)
